TegoBloc™ Swell represents a highly effective waterproofing composite, integrating robust geotextiles and 4.8 kg/sqm of sodium bentonite per square meter (1.0 lbs./sf). The sodium bentonite, known for its high swelling capacity and low permeability, is securely encapsulated between non-woven and woven geotextiles using a needle punch process. This meticulous interlocking forms a resilient composite, ensuring even bentonite coverage while safeguarding against adverse weather conditions and construction-related damage. Upon backfilling, TegoBloc™ Swell undergoes hydration to create a seamless waterproofing membrane.
Noteworthy features of TegoBloc™ Swell include its zero VOC content, adaptability to various weather conditions during installation on green concrete, and its proven effectiveness in diverse global waterproofing projects, both new constructions and remedial applications.
TegoBloc™ Swell operates by establishing a low permeability membrane upon contact with water. The controlled swelling of confined bentonite, up to 15 times its dry volume, results in a dense and impermeable waterproofing layer. This swelling action enables self-sealing of minor concrete cracks arising from ground settlement, shrinkage, or seismic activity, addressing issues typically beyond control.
Designed for below-grade vertical and horizontal structural foundation surfaces.
